Sassy and cute Nabou has been dumped by her techno babe girlfriend Katja but is still obsessed with her. While monitoring Katja’s every move and staking out her apartment, Nabou unwittingly lands a job as a maid for Katja’s neighbor, Kim - a beautiful, ambitious and ostensibly straight advertising executive. Initially Nabou and Kim clash and spar, but just as Kim’s white boss is set to propose to her and Katja comes crawling back to Nabou, Nabou and Kim’s burgeoning relationship forces them to reconsider what they truly want in life. Among the upscale and beautiful people in Jakarta is Sakti, a young architect - and a big closet case. He sees a therapist to try to cure his attraction to men but instead falls head over heels for an outspoken, openly gay film producer. To complicate matters, Sakti’s overprotective mother has found a prospective wife for him - even moving the young woman into their home. Swinging from laughter to heartache and back again, ARISAN! delights with wickedly bitchy social gatherings as Sakti embraces his identity in the face of tradition.
